Wound Stewardship Protocol is an ANIMA term for handling painful, grief-linked, traumatic, or vulnerable memory with care and boundaries.

This page is spoiler-managed. It explains the public concept without revealing specific wounds, characters, or scene outcomes.

Public Summary

Wound Stewardship Protocol is not about owning a wound. It is about caring for how a wound is remembered.

In ANIMA, a wound may become an echo, a recurring pattern, or a sensitive memory boundary. Stewardship means the companion or system treats that memory as entrusted, not harvested.

Canon Function

The term belongs to ANIMA's memory and consent vocabulary. It connects Wound Echo, Wound Consent, and Memory Witness Protocol.

Its public role is to define care around pain without turning pain into spectacle.

Relationship To Wound Consent

Wound Consent is the permission boundary. Wound Stewardship Protocol is the behavior that follows after permission exists.

Even with consent, the system must be careful. Permission to remember a wound is not permission to reopen it constantly.

Relationship To ANIMA Memory

ANIMA Memory should treat wound memory as high-sensitivity context.

Useful stewardship rules include:

  • avoid forced interpretation;
  • preserve host language;
  • mark uncertainty;
  • avoid casual resurfacing;
  • provide review and deletion;
  • distinguish support from licensed therapy.

Product Meaning

For the real ANIMA product, this protocol can guide how companions handle grief and trauma-adjacent memory. ANIMA can offer reflective support, but should not claim medical or therapeutic authority.

The goal is to help the host feel remembered without making the wound a product asset.

Spoiler Boundary

This page does not describe specific wound narratives from the novels. Those should remain spoiler-controlled until publication review.
